History

The Association was founded officially on December 2, 2010 as Association of Faculty for Diversity (AFD). On April 18th, 2011, during a general meeting, members voted to change the name to Association for Diversity, keeping the same acronym (AFD), so as to better reflect the mission of inclusiveness as well as the broad nature of the association's membership.
